What if there is no "They"?

The students that got locked down in period 6 discussed the lock down and got to thinking what it would be like to work in an environment with "they". No authorities or institution to make this place feel so much like a prison. They discussed how we would interact and how this class could run without Mr.Preston always being in front and teaching. This is a new generation and teaching has to evolve like the time has. So what is the next step in public education going to be and can schools survive without "them".
